My Daybook For May 20, 2008

Sorry...my Simple Woman Daybook entry is a day late again!

Outside My Window...total silence - it is a cool, clear, starlit night.

I am thinking...about the trip we are planning for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Any suggestions from anyone for some ways to make this big anniversary and trip special?

I am thankful for...my faithful husband. Once again he sat next to me in a hard hospital chair for the entire day today during my 8 hour infusion. A good man, he is!

From the kitchen...I hear the dishwasher running...did I mention I have a good man?

I am wearing...my comfy, soft, blue and white nightie.

I am creating...a hand painted rocking chair for my youngest granddaughter's first birthday.

I am going...to see the new Indiana Jones movie this weekend.

I am reading...a Bible study on Mark and James, the last of a series to end in June.

I am hoping...the warm weather will return tomorrow. I NEED sunshine!!

I am hearing...political projections from Anderson Cooper - is anyone else already anxious for this election to be over with??

Around the house...are little stacks and remnants of our sons belongings, waiting for him to carry them to his own new home. Each time I pass his funny T shirts folded in stacks waiting for him, I feel that familiar twinge...my boy is no longer a boy!!

One of my favorite things...white cake!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: I plan to take a day to recover from my infusion, something I have not been doing lately. Then I plan to finish planting flowers and arrange the deck. After the long, brutal winter I can hardly wait to sit on my swing and enjoy my gardens!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...no explanation necessary!

Daybook For Thursday, May 15, 2008

The Simple Woman's Daybook project intrigues me. I have always been interested in what people are thinking about the small things in life. Everybody talks about the big things that happen in life but rarely do we mention the simple every day things that happen along the way, but none the less change our journey each and every day. The instructions were to post our journal entry on Monday but I am going to take the liberty of posting today, Thursday! I've been a busy girl!! Here goes:

Outside My Window...the birds are singing, the sun is shining, someone is cutting their grass and creating the most wonderful smell, a sweet mother bird is creating her nest in the lilac tree outside my guest room window!

I am thinking...about my boy, who has recently flown my nest.

I am thankful for...God, who demonstrates every second of every day that He is in control.

From the kitchen...a giant pitcher of iced tea awaits, of which I intend to drink every drop!

I am wearing...jeans, white tea shirt, my favorite lime green jacket, and my ultra comfy Skechers.

I am creating...a room fit for all the future guests I love and hope will visit again and again!

I am going...to make a new memory today with my 4 year old granddaughter, planting flowers.

I am reading...Home To Holly Springs by Jan Karon

I am hoping...to have a clean house in a week!!

I am hearing...my husband coming home.

Around the house...signs of my family are everywhere.

One of my favorite things...lilacs, which I smell from every window.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: I intend to finish my guest room, clean up the mess from the decorating and my son's moving, plant all my gardens, get back to blogging!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing..

I am missing my parents today. This picture was taken the last time I visited them in Tennessee. It is reminiscent of the mountain home of my heart. The mountains, the streams, the wild flowers - the beauty is incomparable.
