Pam at Gray Like Snuffie is hosting 'The A B C's of the Word' each Thursday. Today's letter is "S".
"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
Colossians 3:2
I believe God created everything on earth - and so I believe God wants us to enjoy the beauty of things and people in our world. I think this verse just means that our commitment should be to God and what pleases Him, not us. Do our lives fulfill our purpose or His?

Hi Kathy,
Excellent question! I agree...He created all this for our enjoyment, but also to glorify Himself and to point to His awesome creativity. How could a person not glorify a God who has given so much to His children.
Have a blessed Thursday!

This is a wonderful time of year to be reminded to Set our minds on things above! Blessings...
Your decorating is gorgeous! I have those glass pine cones! I love how you have them with cranberry glass balls. Everything is truly beautiful!
I am checking up on the blogs I follow, and I see I missed your "S" post. I'm glad I found it. I agree with what you said. God does want us to enjoy creation and there are verses that talk about people taking plunder or enjoying earthly blessings from God. Our hearts are to love God first, though, and we worship him only.
