"Go Light Your World"
Written and performed by Kathy Troccoli
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home
*****
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
*****
Take your candle, and go light your world
Frustrated brother, see how he's tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister, she's been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame
*****
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
*****
Take your candle, and go light your world
We are a family whose hearts are blazing
So let's raise our candles and light up the sky
Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus
Make us a beacon in darkest times
*****
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
*****
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Wonderful song and video, Kathy!! I have heard Kathy Troccoli at Women of Faith several times, and she is just so humble and awesome. She lives what she teaches and sings.
Have a joyful Sunday!

Kathy... beautiful post. When I was a little girl I use to watch a Sunday morning program with my grandmother... the theme song went something like your post...
"if everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be..."...

Kathy, I love this song! I actually sang it at church not too long ago....we had a missionary presenting his field that day. Chris Rice sings it also and I like both renditions of it. Thanks for sharing!
We used to sing this at Christmas candlelit services. (sigh)
Thanks for coming by.

Happy Sunday, Kathy:
I'm a huge Kathy Trocolli fan and like to hear her sing and speak about the things she writes in her journal. This song is a great inspiration. So glad you posted it today.
This is such an inspirational song. I had not heard it in a while. Listening to it this morning has inspired me to try and shine a little brighter today. Thank you for this.
Blessings,
Charlotte
Great song. Reminds me of Missions Conference. :)
i like this song. once i did a devotional for ladies group candles. the point was it only takes one candle to light the whole room full of candles. each one lights another. we are to be that light and spread to each other one at a time.
This is one of my favorite songs. Thanks for sharing! Have a great week.
Great song! Kathy is one of my favorites. Her song would be a great theme song to go with a new book I have just finished, The Hole In our Gospel. Thanks for posting.

I remember singing that song is a Cantada at church. In fact when I saw the title of your post, I started humming it, lol!
Hope you had a great weekend and hope you're enjoying spring weather.
Beautiful words. And I love the photos of you & your "honey" That one of you holding each other standing on the sand....
Found your blog thru Danette @ handknitsthatblossom. I love this song! Have you read any of Kathy Troccoli's books? My favorite is "Falling in Love with Jesus" by KT & Dee Brestin. It's a "must-read" for any woman. Looking forward to keeping up with your blogs!
