I'll draw the name on March 8 and announce the winner of one of my own watercolors on March 9.
When my daughter was pregnant both times I thought I would lose my mind I was so excited. I was born to be a grandmother! I could hardly wait to get in the nurseries to paint. Julie found out during both of her pregnancies that was was expecting girls at about 20 weeks. We thought we had loads of time but her first baby was a preemie. They didn't have a stick of furniture or as much as a diaper, but by George, they had wisteria and butterflies on the walls! We were much more prepared for the second birth, though she was late...go figure! I'd like to show you some pictures of Sydney's and Isabelle's nurseries for today's Metamorphosis Monday. I had such a wonderful time doing them - and YES, I DO realize how blessed I am to have a daughter and son-in-law who share their lives and children with "Mimi and Papa" so freely. Julie wanted both girls to have different rooms. We had already done a romantic style nursery for Sydney with pink and lavender wisteria and vines along the upper border of the room. I added butterflies and nests among the vines. So we decided to create for Isabelle an outdoor scene, with a low wild flower border and a large tree laden with nests and bluebirds of happiness. For some reason I didn't take pictures before I started painting, but both rooms were basic solid beige/antique white rooms.
The first two pictures are of Sydney's room...
Don't forget to visit Susan at Between Naps On The Porch. You simply will not believe the creativity of the amazing ladies who are posting for Meta Monday!

Kathy, you are an amzaing artist. What beautiful walls you have created. I know you love those babies - there's nothing better! Linda
Beautiful rooms. I hope they didn't use the same room for a nursery the second time around. I would have had a hard time painting over the first one.
Oh how I loved looking at the rooms. Just storybook perfect with all the wonderful details. I am not good with creative painting and I admire you and those who are. You daughter must be elated to have her talented mother so eager to help. Of course I loved the pic with the beautiful baby in the crib enjoying the nursery!

What amazing rooms. We've stuck with painted walls for the most part...b/w checked contact paper around the middle for a divider in Snickerdoodle's ME room as a child...now lavender and white stripes that she painted...pink on the walls and ceiling of Sunshine's BR...she is getting white molding around her window this summer with a mistreatment for the window...thanks so much for your inspiration
What a darling nursary! I love everything about it! I especially love the murals, I can't believe you did them, they are just so beautiful! You are so talented!
Hugs, Sharon
Thank you so much for stopping by & leaving the nice comment. You are so very talented, those rooms are amazing!
By the way, I like your name to your grandchildren, my grandmother is also Mimi.
OMG!! Those rooms are just wonderful!!! I love the paintings you guys did on the walls and the wonderful sayings--my Gr. Girl has Goodnight Moon at the top of her "reading list"! You ARE a wonderful grandmother! We just found out our second gr child (due in July) is a boy.
Have a great rest of the week! dana
These rooms are just gorgeous! You are one talented lady!!
I am jealous of your close proximity to your grandbabies. We have our grandson (16mo) an hour away, which is great-- but our grand daughter is due this month in Pittsburgh-11 hrs. away. That will be a challenge!
But they have sent pictures of their decorated nursery, so that helps:)
Thanks for sharing your beautiful painting with us:)
