I'm Crying For My Daddy Today

A quick note to let all of my dear, sweet, faithful blogging friends know that I will be out of the loop for the next 5 days or so. My mom called with worrisome news. My precious daddy is very ill in the hospital and I need to see him and be with my mother. So I will be leaving for Tennessee tomorrow morning. If things get better, I hope I will be back home by next mid week. I would be so pleased if you would pray for my dad and for my trip. I have had a difficult recovery from the infusion I had last week. If you are a regular reader of my blog you know that I adore my father. He is the dearest, kindest, sweetest, most compassionate man I have ever known. Dad is the true example of a Godly life. I know that the moment God chooses to take him from this earth he will be provided a Heavenly mansion and the promise of a bejeweled crown because of his faithful life. I don't fear death in that respect. But, oh, how will I enjoy life without my sweet daddy to talk to, and share our same birthdays with, never to hear his beautiful voice sing The Old Rugged Cross? I am trying now to begin picturing my wonderful father sitting in his chair with his Bible on his lap, straining to read through eyes nearly blind. With no vision in one eye and about 40% vision in the other he has read the entire Bible through in 9 months. That is the picture I want burned into my minds eye.

Day 6
If my father goes to Heaven today or in months, he will forever be a lasting example, a gift in my life. And since my father is one of my life's greatest blessings and reasons to be thankful, he is my Day 6 entry for "30 Days of Giving Thanks". Thank you, Dad, for being a father to be proud of in every way.
Joy...Kathy

Kathy my prayers are with you. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. He sounds like a wonderful man. I pray he gets better or gets to go home to his father, the father of all fathers where he will have eternal life. The life we all pray to have someday.

It is a blessing to know when a relative has faith. I have so many in my family who don't. I just said a prayer for you and your family.

How wonderful that you have the rich heritage of a great father. I have no doubt that make things the harder when he is ill and such. Hang in there. Lord Bless, Cathy in Kentucky
