Mimi's Sleepover

Mimi could hardly wait last week when Sydney, my five year old granddaughter, came to spend the night with us. We had the evening to ourselves since Papa had other plans.
Oh, the plans we had!

Many of Sydney's friends came along to play with us - 22 frogs, 8 lizards, 7 turtles, and 8 Beanie Babies! Sydney started our evening together by introducing me to each one by name! You can see that each one has been meticulously placed on the ottoman.

We decided that making a tent in the kitchen with a blanket would be the perfect thing to do...

Time for our tea party...
First we had to have cookies. We made sugar cookies with lots of sprinkles. Then we had to have tea, of course. Pink Bubble Tea, from Disney World, was the perfect choice. We decided to add some luscious strawberries to our dessert tray too. Mimi tried to get Sydney to help her dip the berries in melted chocolate but Sydney thought that sounded "gross". Mimi assured Sydney that she would change her mind one day.

Time to color eggs for Easter now...

Little Miss Sydney thought something was pretty funny!
We were pretty tired after all that partying and egg coloring so we decided a bubble bath and pj's for Sydney were in order. Then we settled in for a movie. After a quick puzzle Mimi and Sydney were ready for bed in the "ginormous princess bed" in our guest room.
What a WONDERFUL evening! Mimi must give one great sleepover party, because Sydney told me today that she didn't think one night was nearly long enough. We need at least a four night sleepover!
I think Mimi needs to rest up...

So sweet! I bet she'll grow up and have a beautiful blog just like Mimi's and write about that perfect evening when she was five...
