Autumn Welcome

Melissa, at The Inspired Room, has written a beautiful list of 20 things she loves about Autumn. She has suggested that others might like to do the same. If you would like to see the lists of what other blogger's enjoy about Autumn visit Melissa's beautiful blog.

Actually, I have never enjoyed Autumn! As I have confessed more than once in my postings, it is not actually that I don't enjoy Autumn, it is that I do not enjoy what follows here in Michigan. I am a warm weather girl and do not enjoy winter at all. However, I truly wish to FIND something to enjoy about everything in God's beautiful creation. So, for that reason, I have really thought about it and much to my surprise I have a list of 20 Little Things To Treasure In Autumn to add to the list contributors on Melissa's site! Think about your list and add it to the Mr. Linky you will find there.

20 Little Things I Treasure About Autumn

1. brightly colored leaves

2. the sound of geese over head

3. pumpkins, carved or not!

4. fresh chilled apple cider at the mill

5. warm pumpkin bread or muffins

6. pumpkin pie with whipped cream

7. Thanksgiving with family

8. thinking and planning ahead to Christmas

9. a fire in the fireplace

10. homemade soups, stews, and chili

11. knitting thick warm throws

12. hot cranberry spiced apple cider

13. a trip to our cottage in northern Michigan

14. jeans and blazers

15. cinnamon spiced candles

16. our local Fall Festival

17. electric blankets!

18. flannel sheets

19. fire roasted corn on the cob

20. hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows

I love all those things, too.
I've been gone and just read your painting post. Girl, I would have left the house not just gone to the other end. You've got a gem of a hubby. Glad it turned out just right. Can't wait to see it.

Your list is fabulous as well! The cranberry spiced apple cider sounds amazing! I can understand you not liking autumn with the cold winters not far behind. I felt the same way when we lived in Iowa. Thank you for stopping by my blog.
Haope you have a beautiful week,
Jen

I agree...I am a warm weather girl. My hubby is from the east coast and I did not like going there in winter. But so many beautiful places to live have those kind of winters. But like you said there STILL ARE REASONS TO BE THANKFUL. I enjoyed reading yours. Wendy

I am glad you made your list and found beauty in spite of what might follow! Isn't that one of the great lessons of life? We dread what is to come sometimes and forget to notice the beauty of today? Great lesson, thanks for making me think about that today!

Love your list!

Fall blessings,
Melissa

You're a brave girl to forge ahead with your list. I know what you mean about "what follows." Let's pray that we all have a nice long fall...say into February or March?

Thanks for stopping by and dropping me a line at B&K. It's fun to see how many similarities are on all of our lists. One thing I think would be awesome from your list is listening to the geese!

And now, enjoy fall and don't think about what comes next (aka: winter!)

Mmmmm! Cranberry spiced apple cider...do you have a recipe?
My sympathy to you for what you endure during a Michigan winter...you do know there are warmer states with no snow, right?! LOL!
I love your background stationary, very pretty!
HAPPY AUTUMN!

Hi Kathy,
I love your list. I am from NY and I lived in Chicago. I love the change of season, but not for the long haul and a long haul it is. The Chicago weather, I thought, was brutal. I can just imagine in Michigan. I hope you can enjoy as much of the Autumn as you can!
