Mother's Got A Thing For Pink!

I just returned from East Tennessee, where I was visiting my parents. My mother is the original pink lady! I imagine it is where I learned to love pink so much. I thought I would share pictures today of my parents living room. If you would like to see more pink posts, go to How Sweet the Sound.

This is the living room. There is lush pink carpeting, a white brocade sofa with pink pillows, and several other upholstered pieces - all shades of pink!
"Pinkie" by Thomas Lawrence.

My dad refinished this beautiful settee. The fabric is a pink rose print.

I made this pink sachet for Mom.

A beautiful pink angel sits atop a deep rose table which I painted for Mom years ago.

The lamp is an antique from my grandparent's home. The shade is a gorgeous pink silk with fringe.

Mom loves pretty things. Isn't this basket lovely? It's filled with pink and white dried blossoms.

Another chair Dad refinished. It's upholstery is a deep raspberry pink brocade.
Another pink chair...

Mom is a dish-a-holic like me. This tea pot was my grandmothers, manufactured by Hull.

My grandmother's china is the most beautiful I have ever seen. It is Haviland, Apple Blossom.

Even Mother's garden is totally pink...mandevilla.

Baskets of pink surround the pool and decking...

Seas of pink Zinnias dot the hills around Mom and Dad's home.

Your parents home is just gorgeous! I could live in a pink home, so soft and gentle! My last house was mauve, cream, and blue the closest I have come to having pink. I enjoyed it a lot!

Hi Kathy,
What a lovely pink post. Your grandmother's Haviland china is so beautiful. There's an antique shop near me that has shelves of that pattern and I could not believe how soft and delicate the patterns were.
Happy Pink weekend!

So much pink "eye candy"! And what a sweet Dad to be okay with all the pink.

I’m still cleaning the master closet, but I sneak away periodically to read a few blogs. (Hey, a girl needs a break every once in awhile! Especially from a job I don’t enjoy…at all!) It’s been fun catching up with you. I hope you’re having a good weekend.

Hugs!
Kat
